Tuesday: En Vivo Day
We finally arrived to the first of the big nights here at El Pozo. Tuesday nights are when the students come to Casa Verde for En Vivo, which is an event that includes dinner, a message, and music. With this being the first En Vivo of the year, we helped the staff clean up the house and put on the finishing touches to make sure it was as welcoming as possible.
The kids came piling in for home made enchiladas suizas, made with the hands of our very own friends. A kiss on the cheek and a hug is normal to greet everyone, even people they don't know. We all got to perform a funny skit on creation that the college kids actually understood AND laughed. (They may have been laughing more about our Spanish and the fact we said mami and papi more than once.) After our comedic take on the creation story, Eva, one of the El Pozo staff members, led the message of how God created us to be in relationship with Him and that He has been working towards achieving that relationship with us ever since The Fall. The night was filled with laughs and good talks, usually in English after attempting conversation in Spanish. The night was not over just yet, afterwards the whole team went out for salsa dancing down the street. Although we got back very late, I think it was worth every second. All together it was an awesome day filled with God.
Besos,
Monica and Sarah
