April 3rd
Today we had an early morning, waking up at 4am to pack up and get on the road. After we were packed we had our last group devotional and said many goodbyes to those we bonded with during the week. We got on the road by 6am and were Blessed to get back across the border quickly within minutes and not the 3 hour wait we were expecting. With our new found time we headed towards the Alamo! We were able to sight see and have lunch together before heading to the airport for our flight back home. All were tired and ready to be back in cozy beds that we take for granted. Once we arrived back in Baltimore we were greeted by George with a box of pizza and chicken which was MUCH appreciated after our long flight. Once we got to Mountain we met Tom, prayed one last time as a team and went home to take hot showers and dive into bed around midnight :)
This trip touched all of us in different ways and was one to remember!

It was our final day of construction. Andy was an awesome person to work with, very detailed, calm and easy going. We had some extra hands come in and help with the stucco and drywall. When it was finished we had a pretty emotional circle with the family and everyone had something to say to them, including Mitch! Andy was very chocked up as was my brother. We had a translator so we knew the family understood what we were saying. We handed over the keys to the family and it was very emotional. The family was so grateful and had been waiting for 5 years for a home to call their own and finally their prayers were answered.

In the night we had a celebration about the 10 houses being finished and all the families that received new homes came to celebrate with us. It was great fun with food and four pinatas. The children had a great time whacking open the pinatas.

After the celebration we had a devotional and I read John Chapter 21 and said a few words about the importance of sharing a meal together. Thank God for this wonderful day!
