"Christ's power on me" Team Arizona Day 6 (Thu)

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It's pretty cool that the missionaries show up early every morning to participate in devotion time and have a meal, but they also end their day with us enjoying a meal and fellowshipping together.

Jean started our day of with a devotion on Praying in Color. It was a different way to Pray if your feeling stuck in your Prayer life. Then we were able to share with each why we drew/doodled what we did.

After that we headed to Little Bluebird Studios. This is a store set up by AYM that produces and sells silk screen shirts to the community and employs natives from the reservation. The shirts are beautiful and all proceeds go back into the Apache youth center. Here is a link

Next we all headed to the High School on the Reservation  to help Lydia get her classroom set for the school year. It's great to see her passion for the students here. The average teacher only spends two years before leaving the school, so there is not even consistency for students at school here to develop relationships.
We headed back to Fort Apache for afternoon devotion and to see Lloyd and Alex. They are both from the youth center, Alex is now selling paintings and Lloyd is preparing food at a cafe there.
Kat led us in afternoon devotion on 2 Corinthians 12:9 we discussed how God is sufficient for All our needs. How our weaknesses provide the opportunity to display God's power. How we are not defined by our failures and mistakes since our identity is now in Christ, and that God is glorified in working through us regardless of our past history.

We ended our day with a meal together asking the missionaries a few questions.
What can we do for you from Maryland ? What are your needs ?
Then we All answered the following questions. How did you get here ? Where are you headed?

Another beautiful day!

John
