- “Blessed be the Lord at all times, His Praise Shall be continually in my mouth.” We are dedicated to worshiping the Lord our God in everything we do.
- The devotions are a great way to start our day as a group focusing our hearts and minds on the purpose for being here. It also gives a chance for everyone to participate and display their spiritual gifts. It has been a pleasure to see everyone’s spiritual growth.
- Tod led us in our morning devotion on “Truth Wins.”
- Jesus is the Way, the Truth & the Light
- Jesus often said this is the truth during his teaching
- Sin is real and no one is righteous
- If sin were not real we would not be here
- Sin prevents us from being with God. The wages of sin is death, meaning separation from God’s love and His covenant promises.
- James 5 – Confess your sins so you may be healed
- Prayer of repentance and confession are not common enough
- Psalm 139 – search me o’ God. It is important we investigate internally what is separating us from God and His promises. It is important we mature spiritually and as Paul states put off childish things.
-
We had some rain in the morning and when we showed up to the court it was wet but there was a group of kids waiting to greet us. They love to be given jobs to do, so we encourage them to help set up and tear down the equipment.
They were loving on us with hugs and high fives. Before long we had 40 kids shooting baskets on the 4 hoops. Partially because school let out due to an earthquake, the afternoon session was packed with about 75 kids.
- The kids from yesterday remembered the drillsand did a great job helping the new comers.
- It was a diverse group with both boys and girls ranging in age from about 9-12.
- Pastor Uriel opened the camp and the youth pastor from the church opened us in prayer
- Tod talked to the kids about sin entering the world and what that meant to God’s creation
- We closed each session with awards and the kids really deserved and enjoyed the recognition.
- We finish our day playing pickup basketball at Nicaragua Christian School. We had a great time playing with the guys and the locals. Great way to finish off the day with exercise and a chance to interact with the Nicaraguan people.
