Rick & Ryan lead us in this morning’s devotion on the topic “Love Wins” and we got to see that truth today.
As we are getting more familiar with our surroundings and the kids more familiar with us we are noticing the similarities between these children and our kids at home. Maybe it is a child with the same name or they have a jump shot that reminds us of our own kid. Those things along with their smiles and joyful spirits make it easy to love these kids.
Today we shared with the children of Loma Linda how much God loves them. He loved them so much He give his son Jesus as payment for their sins. We handed out red bracelets today to remind them of Jesus’ blood that was shed for the forgiveness of their sins. We were able to share this with 75 kids in the morning session and 82 kids in the afternoon session. Because school was out many of the children from the morning returned for the afternoon session which is encouraging because we know they are enjoying the camp. What is even more encouraging is that we know they are learning the gospel. At half time we give the kids a quiz about what we have learned each day and they are retaining the information. This is why we are here and today we got to experience love winning.
We were able to take pictures of 90 of the kids to give out at Friday’s church service.
We also got to open our letters today to feel some love from home!
