Nicaragua Day2 – July 26, 2015
-
We had a great breakfast hosted by the Izzo
family.
-
Tod led a time of prayer and preparation. Tod was prophetic in his message to us in
that Missions are not the ultimate goal of the Church. Worship is!
Missions exist because worship doesn’t.
Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not
man. Worship, therefore, is the fuel and
goal of missions!
-
As we entered the Holy Place, I am reminded of
the scripture that says, “I will Bless, the Lord at all times, and His Praise
Shall Continually be in my mouth! We were
blessed to be at church today. Praise
and worship was in full effect! The Lord showed up and showed out! The Praise and Worship was in Spanish and
despite the language barrier, we were still able to enter into His Presence.
Also, it just happened to be a day when an English speaker was giving the
message with a translator about the sacrificial wounds and death of Jesus:
o
Colossians 2:13 says, “When you were dead in
your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful
nature, God made you alive with Christ.
He forgave us all sins, having canceled the written code, with its
regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away,
nailing it to the cross.”
o
Major wounds cannot be fixed with band aids
o
Jesus’ body was enough to heal all wounds -
inside & out
o
The Spirit of God was present! We witnessed intersession and prayer for the
saints as the preacher began the laying on of hands of 20+ people, bringing
about healing and restoration.
-
The morning worship equipped us to minister and
serve the people of Nicaragua. We begin
our preparation of empowering through sports with some simple tasks:
o
Opening equipment
o
Inflating basketballs
-
Lunch was hosted by the Izzos
o
A team put together the basketball hoops at the
church with the help of many local youth
o
Another team got together with a few locals and
cleaned up the park where we will be conducting the basketball camp, including painting
the hoops and lines on the court.
-
We stayed in the park to watch a local soccer
game – very high level of play
-
We went to another court to review the plan for
the next day
-
We were blessed to interact and play a game of
basketball with five local guys at the court
