"Feeling Better" Mexico GO team - 13 Aug 2015

13 August 2015

Hola amigos!

We are past the halfway point of the week. Everyone is starting to feel better so thank you for your prayers. So often we get impatient with God when he doesn’t answer our prayers immediately and our friends from Texas reminded us of the importance of being diligent in our prayers. So thank you for being diligent in prayer with us for the healing of our teammates.

Today was another fun day! We went to Casa Verde and had about an hour to make some progress on our projects in the front entry room and the painting in the barn. Then we needed to pack up our projects and get Casa Verde ready for the Welcome Back BBQ where we served hamburgers and hot dogs. The BBQ is an awesome opportunity to get students to Casa Verde that would not typically show up for En Vivo. Today, I met four students, two freshman and two upperclassmen, come because they had heard they could get free food at this place. They had no idea what Casa Verde is or what El Pozo is, but were able to get connected with Kami. Kami was able to show love to these girls by taking the time to get to know each of them for who they are. Tomorrow the students are going to the orphanage that El Pozo partners with and these girls were interested in going and wanting to join in and now know a few people. Who knows where God is going to take these girls or what they believe about who God is. Let’s pray for Penny, Sharon, Michele, and Priscilla for them to be able to bump into Jesus and experience the transforming love of Christ.

After the BBQ, we cleaned up and went shopping at the Talavera store to bring some of Puebla home with us. Talavera is a type of pottery that is native to Puebla because of the type of clay that is found here and the process of making and painting the pottery. Then we had some down time at Casa Verde, watched part of Finding Nemo with the missionary kids until we had dinner, my personal favorite (Sarah)…MOLOTES! Molotes are fried tortillas with stuff inside. I like molotes hawaiana which is pineapple, cheese, and ham. Yum yum yum! We called it a early night and headed back to the BAM Center to rest for our last work day tomorrow.

We have loved every second of being here and find it sad that our week is starting to wind down.
