Anthony writes...

On the flight from London to Nairobi Dan and I sat next to a lady named Linda. Linda and her husband were coming to Kenya for a Safari. After some conversation I prayed quietly about turning the talk to God and I did. I asked her what she thinks about Jesus and whether she goes to church. She told us that she gave up on organized religion even though she is spiritual. Linda said that she used to go to church often but they were never accepted as a multiracial couple that got married in 1973.  People in organized religion talk the talk but do not walk the talk. I welcomed her to Kenya, and told her I wish she finds God of all nature out there in her safari. I finished by telling her to enjoy her stay in kenya and know that Jesus Loves her.

Dan writes...

As we drove from the airport to the hotel someone joking said “Dan made it!” If you know me then you will appreciate the weight of that statement.  Flying ranks among my least favorite things to do on this planet, yet I just flew half way around world.  So how did I get to Kenya without serious medication? Well, it started with a challenge in January to pick a word that would influence your whole year.  I felt like my word should be faith. I wanted to experience God in a deeper and more real way, but I realized that would require some steps toward him on my part. When presented with the opportunity to go to Kenya, I realized it was my fear that was holding me back.  It was time to allow God to cast out fear and allow him to grow a deeper more real faith in me. I said yes and a team of people have been praying for me for months. Well, I am happy to report that I made it and with very little anxiety at all. God is so gracious and I know he is going to continue to change me on this trip.
