God certainly blessed us with another awesome
rewarding day on Tuesday. Missionaries Nick and Kat joined us for eggs,
sausage and coffee for breakfast as well as devotions which prepared
us for the prayer walk later that day. We then traveled back to the Kennel
for Nick's poverty talk which focused on the varieties of poverty-financial,
relational, purpose, and familial. Afterwards, the men went to the church
across the street for Celebrate Recovery and interacted with 30 other
men for scripture and lunch while the women on our team
ate their lunch and discussed further the poverty talk. After we
rejoined, Nick took us to Fort Apache where we visited the Native
Indian Museum and learned more about native customs . We then traveled
to the reservation hospital where Ana, an AYM volunteer met us and
told us about her practice there as a registered nurse. She described the
nature of chronic illnesses and patient needs on the reservation as
well as difficulties recruiting and retaining some medical staff. In particilar,
she noted that the hospital lacked an anestegiologist so we prayed for one
to hear that call and ask for your prayers too that the holy spirit enter one's
heart to fill that vacancy at the hospital. We returned to our residence and
proceeded to eat our meal of hot dogs, beams and chili. Nick, Ana and her 2
godchildren, Seth, Kat and Chrystal joined us for prayers and dinner.
Afterwards, lights out well before curfew.
Peace and blessings,
Mike Gallagher
