This morning Nick joined us for breakfast and
devotions which centered on verses from Revelation regarding the roles Jesus
played in his life and whether we played different roles in our lives.
Following this extensive devotion, we returned to the Kennel, had lunch and
another devotion focused on assessing our skill sets for Serving God.
Afterward. Nick and Haley, another recent addition to the AYM staff
(btw---she just returned from her honeymoon) drove us to the Kinishba
village ruins. These ruins are estimated to be about 1,200 years old
and served about 800 occupants. A sacred Native American site which we
honored by taking nothing and leaving only footprints. The experience left us
with a greater appreciation of the Apache's ties to this area. Afterward,
Nick gave us a drive by of the various neighborhoods so we could appreciate the
spartan dwellings which the AYM youth occupy. The rest of the afternoon some
of us helped Lydia, another AYM volunteer, set up her classroom as
she is a teacher at the local high school. The rest of us helped Ana
(the AYM volunteer who is a registered nurse) move to her new home. We then
rejoined, returned home and prepared our dinner of chicken barbecue
and potato and macaroni salads. We were delighted that Lottie (who
provided the house we're staying in) joined us for dinner as well as Seth,
Nick, Haley and her husband Nick, Lydia and Kat. Dinner,
conversation and laughter lasted for hours but ended well before curfew.
Another outstanding day of appreciating God's earthly beauties, enhancing
one another's faith, strengthening each other's skills and examining our
own future ministries.
Peace and blessings,
Mike Gallagher
