MOVEABLE Team Arizona is off and running!

It Is really dark in Harford County at 5am, but the NLC lights were on and 11 Go Trippers donned in their green 'Moveable" tee shirts were on time with luggage, smiles, open hearts and near crazed enthusiasm for our mission trip to the Apache Youth Mission in AZ. Tom Moen and Gene Dobbins joined us and several family members for a trip blessing and then we took off. Thanks to Karl Krebs excellent driving, we got to BWI early and got through security and baggage pretty fast. Good 4 1/2 flight to Phoenix and arrived safely, picked up all luggage, a large can and took off for the White Mountain Apache Reservation. For many of us, a desert landscape was quite new. And awesome. High mountains, plenty of cactus, ranches with horses and cattle. We stopped off at "Judy's Cafe" for an outstanding lunch. We received blessings from many who inquired about our tee shirts. We deliberately traveled near the San Carlos Indian Reservation so we could observe a breath taking view of some "Grand Canyon lite" scenes. God is awesome. We arrived at the reservation and received further blessings from Miss Lotty, a friend of the AYM, who provided us witha house   complete with hot showers and plenty of beds. After unloading our luggage,we attended the 7pm service at "TheChurchAZ" which our host missionaries attend. Part of the service addressed the church's financial effort to purchase a new facility. An epic undertaking so please pray for their success! We concluded our first day by breaking bread (okay, it was pizza), and receiving more prayers and best wishes from others for our mission to AYM. We start early tomorrow (Sunday) with a church service with our host missionaries. More blog reporting tomorrow!!
