The Team "slept in", or not...

After being up for 22 hours for the trip out to Arizona, we planned for a late wake up. Not this team! With the 3 hour time difference, everyone was up by 7am (okay 10am EDT so I guess we did sleep in) git breakfast and then team leader Larry Priebe led us through a team devotion that covered many subjects but which centered on "simplify" and "still". This devotion, in turn, got us centered for the 10:30 service at the White River Christian Church. Awesome service. We joined a short term mission team from North Carolina.  Much singing, praying, loving. After the service, we moseyed on over to "the Kennel" across the street.  (You'll read more about the Kennel in the rest of the blogs. The Kennel is a community center with a kitchen, pool table, picnic tables.)  There we met some of the AYM missionaries Nick, Kat, Ana as well as some of the Apache youth. All awesome young people. Regrettably we shamed MCC in the dancing and singing contests.  Our apologies to you all!. One if the Apache yourh, Aliz, is a jumior in h.s. And is a very accomplished artiat.

His work has been displayed Afterwards, we traveled to the Dollar Store for supplies to provision us for "minute to win it"- one of the games we prepared for the youth.  We then prepared our first dinner here--spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. Nick, Kat and Seth joined us for dinner. What a great time. We enjoyed several hours just talking and laughing.  We crashed after they left. What a blessed and joyous day!
