Servant Hearts With Deep Conversations

Today we woke up from experiencing sleeping in the "Barn" (its not actually a barn, its the main room for activities that they call the barn). From the moment we woke up the serving began, of course after eating breakfast. Some of us went with Kami and Rut to hand out free coffee to the college students. While the rest of the group went straight to finishing painting projects from yesterday. While todays projects where more relaxed than yesterday, it provided us with great opportunity to enter into life conversations with those that we were working with.  Go team bonding!!!

After the first part of the day, we walked to a resturant near by for lunch. It was AMAZING!  Some of us ordered the food that Jordan and Kami suggested, a pita type sandwhich, while others got hamburgers and nachos.

Once returning from having extremely stuffed stomachs, we began to prepare for En Vivo, the college program that El Pozo leads. It was really cool to see how the missionaries prepare themselves after a busy day to be ready for the students. They picked a song, and while laying on the floor we spent time praying, and relaxing.

Then it was time for the students to arrive. Our challenge was to not hide behind things such as serving dinner or doing dishes, but to go out and build relationships. For some of us, this was completly out of the confort zone, but we all mangaged to make friends.

As the night came to an end, we could really see the friendships that were built. Some of us learned a new game called Around the World. It is EXTREMLY intense but SO much fun! Some of us sat around the bonfire and others helped with cleaning up.

Finally it was down to our team and two other students. Some of the team called it a semi early night, while others were past the point of exhaustion but were having a blast sitting in a circle talking with the two students. We were joking around, and talking about our favorite things. Then one question was asked that lead us into a serious conversation involving some of us sharing parts of our story. The simple question asked was " how many siblings do you have." We finally called it a night but agreed to hang out tomorrow night and possably build a fort.

Today was great day of serving, deep conversation with team and friendship building.

Team Mexico.
