Happy-sad is the word that best
describes our last day in Mexico. Happy because we completed our task by
finishing the home for the Urbano Cruz family. Sad because we had to leave a
family that we had bonded so strongly with.
When we arrived at the house it was overcast with a misty rain but it could not hinder our excitement. The joy on the faces of the family, who were now our extended family, was cause enough for celebration. With everyone gathered inside the three room house we officially turned over the keys to the father, Isai. We spoke words of encouragement and gratitude for the family and shared in their elation. Then with all of us placing our hands on the home, we prayed blessings over the home and family and sang praises to God for His blessings along with the local pastor. Saying goodbye to all of them, especially the children was very emotional. Still we left with hearts full.
God is good all the time!
