God FIRST loved US!

The Kenya team had a day as long as it was fulfilling. We began VBS at the Pangani School, and the team put together rooms filled with snacks, music, crafts, stories, and games. The children we've experienced here are filled with so much joy! They even put on a special show for us, reciting their memory verse, 1 John 4:19: We love because God first loved us. The energy and passion for Christ translates so much in their interaction with one another and with the team. We also split into three groups and joined social workers in visiting homes in the Mathare Valley community. Here we heard stories of people's joy, brokenheartedness, relationship with Christ. Our team had the opportunity to witness multiple people choose Christ and be born again. The feeling was indescribable. We thank God for all of the ways we see him in Kenya and how we've seen and heard of the love of God manifesting in their lives. We also got the opportunity to visit Mary Kamau, founder of Missions of Hope International. The team enjoyed a "Ken-Mex" meal, and shared in fellowship with Mary and another mission team from California. We pray God continues to work through MOHI in bringing the light to Kenya.
