Ladies Team Kenya in finals days ON Mission WITH Jesus in Nairobi...

Our days are so full it is hard to find time to share, but our hearts are so full that share we must.  Since the women's conference last week, we have visited the campuses of schools and done home visits in Mabatini, Pangani, and Kariobungo,  Though the people have little, and sometimes worry about where their next meal might come from, they welcome us into their homes and treat us with gracious hospitality,  The women keep their homes neat and tidy, their children clean, and their laundry done,  But little can mask the stench of the stagnant water which flows through the alleys between their tin-roofed shanties, and nothing can hide the trash under our feet as we duck and crouch under hanging laundry and low jagged roofs.
Poverty is obvious,,,,extreme poverty is obvious, but the people of these places fight hard against the despair that could easily overcome them,  They find courage from MOHI, knowing that their children are gaining an education and will have a brighter future than they, And they find courage in The Lord.  Many are joyful and hope filled.  When they smile, which they do often, their faces alight with an unbelievable joy. They are grateful to MOHI for providing for their children and for changing their communities thru all their programs and the help provided by the social workers.  The social workers form relationships and build strong bonds of trust with these families, They follow them closely, and know all the details of their lives.  They inquire when children don't come to school and recruit new children as well.. These workers are truly incredible and I have seldom seen more dedication or love.
This does not mean all is sunshine and roses in the Nairobi slums.  We also visited homes with bedridden members, sick persons, people in deep despair and people who do not yet believe in our savior, The Lord.  The challenges are real. The issues are real.  But God is in Kenya, and he comforts those who have faith. He is doing a mighty work.,,,and He is not done yet!
Please pray for God to continue to change lives in Kenya, to build a future for the children thru education and skills that will glorify God and redeem their communities' hopes, and for continued support of MOHI to enable change to happen in a mighty way,
