thoughts from the Team IN Mexico

The MCC GO Team is IN Mexico...literally!  We are blessed to be here and share in the El Pozo ministry.  We enjoy interaction with both Staff and Students over coffee breaks and at meal times...we be eatin' a LOT of tacos and enchiladas!!!
Following are reflections from each of our Team regarding our time here so far...

It's been an amazing experience. It has been four years since I last came here and it’s like they haven’t skipped a beat. One of the coolest things I’ve gotten to witness this week is En Vivo, the outreach event. In this, they create a space for students to enjoy good food, live music, and hear the good news of Jesus Christ. You could see the students felt at home with the way they interacted with both staff and the core community. The community is unlike anything around this school and people are attracted to it (over 200+ students!!)

I’m very thankful that God spoke into my heart to join a Mountain mission trip team going to support El Pozo young adult ministry in Puebla/Cholula Mexico.
The day of departure I didn’t know what to expect but I was open to experience new adventures and opportunities. I gave God any worries about sickness, language barriers, cultural differences, and safety knowing that this was not my mission but His.
I am glad I did!
The experience has been amazing! It has been a mix of physical labor followed by relational gatherings and ministry. God has formed a special bond between a team of brothers witnessed through vulnerability and encouragement. Jesus has walked with us when our muscles were sore, and our bodies fatigued, to continue on to the finish line. The Holy Spirit has been present during relational gatherings with El Pozo staff and young adults that were full of joy and love.
The embrace, kindness and generosity of the staff and students is humbling, heartfelt, and will be carried with me from Mexico.
El Pozo, mi corazon esta lleno!
To glorify Gods Kingdom. Amen!

My time here in Mexico has been truly a blessing! It has been by the grace of God that I am here to witness so many beautiful people and how God has and is working in their lives and mine.
The lessons I’m learning about their culture and hearing some of there stories of faith, hurt and addictions has been humbling to me.
I’m in awe of how God picked this team of men from Mountain to come here to be servants to the people of Puebla. The many talents that He has blessed us with has shown in the work we did, the words that were spoken and the prayers that were prayed.
All the people here have been amazing and have shown true kindness and love.
So I want to end this with a scripture I read this morning.
- Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me - everything you have heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
- Phillippians 4:9
Paz perfecta.

Mexico has been amazing! So so cool to see what God has been doing among college students at El Pozo for many years. Simple conversations with college students about calling, purpose, and life in Mexico has been so strengthening and encouraging to me and the team. And lots of Tacos!!!
Only a couple day left here.  We continue to live out Colossians 1.28-29

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I (we) strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me (us).

Pray continually for us...
