2 days into Brazil...reflections

The Kingdom of God is about people with people on earth as it is in Heaven. We join hands and hearts to usher in the fullness of Christ, ON Mission WITH Him and each other, driven THROUGH His Spirit in the Church, joined together for His purposes.
The partners in this ministry TOGETHER! This is on a wall in the new construction of the multipurpose Worship Center being built.  Will seat 1000 people and will be space for praise, worship, play, study, groups, activities, and be the largest gathering place in town! The community will be attracted to the place and get to know the Creator and Sustainer of ALL things!

Here are a couple reflections from the team...
From Alan.

My one word leading into this trip was “Anticipation” I was excited to see and anticipating God to work in ways that I couldn’t prepare for. What I didn’t realize was that God was going to use a lot of little things to bring BIG JOY to my heart.

For instance,  playing “taco cat goat cheese pizza” card and inviting  a lil guy named Taeo to play would lead to the opportunity to pray over his father Davison that evening.
Or
That making “sound guy” jokes with with Samuel and Damião as we set up for service would lead to contagious laughter that heals the soul.
Or
Playing an unplanned game of frisbee with some local kids in the town center.
Or
Playing “restaurant” with a little girl named Alysia while worship is happening in the middle of the park. That precious girl did not speak English, but as she airplaned me fake food, her laugh did all the communicating needed.

I didn’t anticipate how much God would use the little moments to make a big impact on me. I know those little moments are also making an impact on others and advancing His kingdom.

From Eric.

The journey was long, but after 30 hours of travel that included 2 flights and a 3 hour car ride... a rather bumpy ride... we arrived in Piancoʻ Brazil and our host homes around 1 am Tuesday morning. But it was worth the challenge!
Everyone has been so gracious. They are opening their homes to us. They have invited us into the beauty of a Brazilian family feast for every meal. We laugh with each other when Google Translate lets us down. We embrace after an evening of worship, where we belt out the Goodness of God in 2 different languages that must sound odd to the people in the park, but can only be a sweet sound rising to the throne of God.
Although there are challenges... actually, they're just inconveniences... it is a blessing to step away from the everyday routine and see the world and God's movement in it in a fresh new way.
I even helped with the construction of their Worship Center...not as easy as it looks!

So, the Team is doing well! We are excited to see how God is inviting people to Bis Banqueting Table...
Luke 13:29 NIV
People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God.

We are making tables to remind us to invite those around us the this life-giving banquet..
YOU are invited too...come to the Table He's prepared for you!
