At the basketball courts yesterday, we met a new friend named Tom from Germany 🇩🇪
He is a footballer there and has been a student at the University here now for 2 months. He just started playing basketball here and said he enjoys playing sports here as a way to find new friends and he is clearly seeking community.
At first he was on the other team, but soon he became the 4th member of our squad with me, Bryan and Jeremy. During that time we had discussions about sports of course, but also talked about how we are all Christians and went on to have a good discussion about what it means to be a Christian. We are looking forward to connecting with Tom again later today at the courts.

Mark and Princess have such an amazing testimony of faith. From the beginning they sensed God calling them to Thailand mission field. God said go and they went. The went before raising support, before learning the language, and before getting any training. God said go and they said send me. I am truly inspired by their faith and desire to follow Jesus calling. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

God did a cool thing when he put together the opportunity to meet IR. We were in a cafe at TU playing some games and doing some art while students were working on homework on Tuesday . We didn’t want to be a bother. But I looked over and saw IR and Pam working on some digital electronics homework. Having taken similar classes in school, I knew what they were working on so with Tom’s prompting I started a conversation with him. We talked about the subject, his interests in electrical engineering and computer science, and a little bit about ultimate frisbee. He was very kind and kept the conversation going for a bit. I brought up Grapevine and we have him a Grapevine ultimate disc. I got to see him at the cafe again on Wednesday. The prayer here is that he and Pam would be drawn to Grapevine’s community.
Please pray with us for our new friends. Pray they will see Jesus in us and come to know HIM as we do!
