Some thoughts from the Team..
Kimberly: Her word is INSPIRED!
Saying goodbye to the Lincoln’s today was truly bittersweet. It felt like parting from lifelong friends, even though we only shared five short days together. The bitter part comes from the sense of loss, but it’s sweet because we were blessed to witness the amazing work God is doing through their ministry.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
Today, I’m excited to reconnect with the Meister’s and am looking forward to our time here in Birmingham. It’s a new season, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store.
Luke: His word is FULL
Street pastoring: A sad yet comforting experience. Lots of people going in and out of clubs or living on the streets. It’s sad seeing people looking for fulfillment in the wrong places. However, God’s love, grace, and compassion are evident through the street pastor ministry.
Thoughts from today: The first half of this trip with the Lincoln’s in Gloucester was a blessing. It was neat seeing their heart for Jesus and how they share his love to the people in their community. As we enter the second half of the trip in Birmingham with the Meisters, I am excited to see how God is working through them in their community.
Ben: His word is WITNESS
Thoughts on street pastoring...
We all search for something. In the streets among bars, bottles, and blistering cold wind are people hungry and searching. Searching for happiness, answers, and God in a place where it seems none can be found. Yet in this place of yearning we encounter people who recognized something different about the "Gloucester street pastors." People eager to come up and ask questions and confess and look for truth. This was a much needed reminder that the light of Christ Jesus our Risen Lord shines brightest in the darkest of alleys, bars, and streets. All we needed to do is walk alongside him there.
Patty: My word is ‘Reunion’
It is such a joy to be back with precious friends. While it’s been a year since being together, the kindred friendships are familiar, authentic, and strong. It is such a blessing to see God at work here and to experience the joy of Jesus’ resurrection with these friends and a great team!
Anthony:
It was amazing to be part on a new church plant on Easter Sunday in a location that has no churches. More people came to the service than expected and that was so encouraging.
Families who came on the Friday egg hunt came back to the new church service.
The energy was powerful.
God is with the team here.
I thoroughly enjoyed worshiping on a Easter Sunday across this side of the world with some brothers from Kuwait.
Thought from Street Pastor Night:
People stopped us in the streets lined with clubs on Saturday after midnight before Easter Sunday to ask about God.
They were convicted by the Holy Spirit to confess and enquire about the next steps of how and where to follow God.
