Each one prayed for someone we met along the way today...it's about the people God has in this place, the faithful men and women who are living into their calling. Here are a few of them.
Jess...tonight I prayed for Stella a social worker and Thomas, a pastor (that started as a teacher) who led our home visits. I pray for the fire in their hearts to stay ignited as they continue to be present for and love on those in the community.
Aurora...today I prayed for Edna(please fix if I spelt wrong!) for school as she starts on Tuesday. Also well as her family back at home. She has a single mother, 1 sister, and 1 brother.
James...Tonight i prayed for Alan. He is a social worker that led our home visit on Wednesday. He has been with MOHI for only 4 months but I can already see the impact he is having on building relationships with the families. He has 206 families that he is in charge of! I prayed for him to stay on mission and stay bold and stay reminded of the huge impact he is having.
Sujay...Tonight I prayed for Maxwell. He is a MOHI teacher who is a quiet servant of God who quickly jumped in every time the kids needed something. He sought neither attention nor accolade. He just did what needed to be done. One thing I noticed was he looked worn. I pray for God to lift his spirit and put hope and encouragement in his heart tonight.
PJ...tonight I prayed for our daily bus driver Francis. He has masterfully navigated the very busy streets of Nairobi, all while teaching Brandi and I some conversational Swahili; allowing us to connect on a deeper level with the locals we meet. I pray that he continues to keep us safe and provide great fellowship while getting us to our many destinations throughout the labyrinth that is Nairobi.
Christine...Tonight I prayed for Christine, a teacher at Pangani School. She smiles with such joy and love that she shares with her students every day, day in and day out. I prayed for God to sustain her throughout the school year.
Brandi...Tonight i prayed for the interns at MOHI. I am inspired by their faithfulness, selflessness, discipline, and love for Jesus. Continue to strengthen them as they lead and serve, and may they keep igniting a passion for Christ in their peers and the youth they mentor. I also pray for the 6,000 children still waiting for sponsorship. Move in the hearts of people to support them, and remind each child that they are deeply seen, known, and loved by God.
God has worked through Wallace and Mary Kamau (picture above) in a huge way and we are thrilled to join them in this ministry!
