This trip has really shown me the meaning of community. Our team community is amazing. The MOHI community is transforming lives and showing God’s hands and feet to others in so many ways, and community in Christ has been evident and so powerful in so many interactions, from MOHI students singing praise’s to God to interactions with social workers like Ruth and Augustine whose passion for doing God’s work is evident in their care and their tireless efforts for the neighborhood children here and it is so very inspiring!

Today was our first full day in Nairobi, and after we got back, I spent some time journaling about the day's experiences. One moment that really stayed with me was hearing the second-grade class recite Psalm 23:1: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." After writing about it, I picked up my prayer book and wrote down my prayers for the day. When I finished, I happened to glance at the bottom of the page, where there's always a Bible verse printed. To my surprise, it was the very same verse. In that moment, I was completely overwhelmed by God's faithfulness. It felt like another gentle reminder that He is continuing to guide me and confirm that I am exactly where I'm meant to be. Through the voices of those children and a simple verse on a page, He spoke directly to my heart: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 🩵

Yesterday was our first day at MOHI. We visited the Pangani school and also did home visits in the slums. It was so eye opening to see the huge impact of the MOHI school on these kids and their families and the entire area of Nairobi and beyond.
When we visited people living in the slums it was the worst poverty level I've ever been in. And we got to pray with them and they had so much hope and joy even though they have almost nothing.
