day 2 of VBS...updates...and coffee!

We start each day with scripture, prayer, and a 1-2-3-JESUS cheer...gets our hearts and perspectives set on HIS Mission!

Bon dia família!! Today, we had an awesome first day bringing the message of the peace and love that Jesus brings. We visited one private school and one public school, both of which were high schoolers. 

After, we went for some yummy açaí and fellowship. Then, for the evening, we hiked up to the cross that overlooks Piancó and shared stuff that God was doing in our lives that we were grateful for. We prayed over Piancó from the mountain all together. It was a beautiful moment where we could all feel the emotion from each other, regardless of language barriers.

And, of course, we had a treat of Açaí!

Meet Paloma she is one of the kids that experience the VBS at her public school.  She even got her friends dancing Church clap, Cotton Eye Joe, and Cubic Shuffle.  Then at night time she came to the church service.

Boa noite família!! Today was an awesome day filled with joy, love and laughter. We got to preach the story of the Good Samaritan to middle and high schoolers. They were very receptive of us and we had an awesome time line dancing. We were then able to go and have lunch at a local missionary’s house, Hercules and Dani. Later in the evening, we had our worship service where Hercules brought a beautiful message based off of John 3:16. So thankful for the hospitality of the missionaries here in Brazil and can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings 😊

Today was full of joy in many different unexpected ways. From the impromptu worship after lunch to the light rain that brought the kids to sit closer to us and be more open to the message and engage. Even though there were lots of fun surprises the message stayed the same. Reach out even if only a few listen, because those few still matter.
