Chrys:
This morning felt redeeming, as I was able to be all in during VBS, also being able to eat something for the first time since lunch on Tuesday. It felt quite nice getting mugged, getting my wig stolen, and being kicked while being hurt, lonely, and sad lying in a ditch. Also feeling incredibly grateful for this team both American and Brazilian, for going out of their way to take care of me, making sure I was ok, and stepping up and filling the gap created due to this guy being down and out. Played soccer for the first time in more than 30 years with the kids! I really felt my age! lol… legs feel like jello. Great time none the less! Thank you Lord Jesus for your healing! Great service this evening and just a wonderful time just hanging out and talking.
Chance:
After many days of the VBS and worship services, a big take away is how a little goes a long way. It’s not about what you have, it’s about how you spend the time. Whether it’s making balloons for kids or figuring out song sections in the moment with the band, being present is very important. God calls us to do this with Him and with others. Taking the time to See, Care, Help, Stay, Trust Jesus, and Share Joy has changed the way I choose to interact with those on the team and who are around me.
Luis:
Today was one of those days that reminds me why the *Church is called to go beyond its walls.*
This morning, we had the privilege of visiting a recycling center here in Brazil. During the employees’ 30-minute break, nearly 20 workers gathered with us to hear God’s Word, pray together, and intentionally pause to give thanks to Him. It was a beautiful reminder that worship isn’t confined to a church building. God meets us in the everyday places where people work, serve, and live.
We also spent time with the administrators and office staff, sharing another brief devotional and praying over them. It was encouraging to see hearts open to receive hope and encouragement in the middle of a normal workday.
Later, we traveled to Pitombeira, where we served at the local school through two Vacation Bible School programs. Seeing children laugh, learn about Jesus, and experience the love of Christ was a powerful reminder that investing in the next generation has eternal impact.
We ended the day worshiping with our brothers and sisters at the local church. There is something incredibly special about praising the same Savior in a different language and culture. It reminds me that the Kingdom of God is so much bigger than us, and that the Gospel continues to unite people across every nation.
I’m grateful for every conversation, every prayer, every smile, and every opportunity God gave us today. Ministry isn’t always about large crowds or big moments it’s often about faithfully showing up, loving people well, and pointing them to Jesus wherever He sends us.

Today was a crazy fun chaotic day. We had so many kids in the morning and I was able to do their facepaint. We had some downtime at lunch and were able to rest a bit. Our team time was incredible. We are truly growing closer as a team and are able to recognize strengths in others that we want to build up. The afternoon was filled with fun and chill vibes. The older kids wanted to play outside more which gave me the chance to practice my Portuguese and have slower conversations with some of the kids. The church service was a great fulfilling experience as Dihna (might have spelled her name wrong) gave the message. She did a truly phenomenal job and inspired me as I try to learn more about preaching. I love this team, both Brazilian and American, and I am so glad that I get to learn with them and from them. Truly a blessing! 💛💛💛
