be a blessing OR being blessed...that is the question!

We began our day at Pangani School holding VBS for the 1st and 2nd graders. The kids blessed us with their brightness and their joyful singing. As they day went on we could hear the children singing the memory verse that we taught them as we walked through the hall ways - "We love because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19. Our class sizes are huge - sometimes we are teaching to 2 classes at one time. With 65 kids in the room it can be a challenge to spend meaningful moments with each and every child. But those thoughts are quickly dismissed when the kids line up to leave and you're getting 6 hugs at one time while giving hi-fives out to any hand that you can reach.
Later, we walked into the valley again to evangelize and to pray for some members of the community. We met a mother of child who attends MOHI. She told us that her older daughter is in Joska which is a boarding school a few hours away from Pangani. She most likely has not seen her daughter since the school term has started. When we realized that we were going to Joska later in the week, we were able to make a quick video on our phone of this mother sending a message to her daughter. It is our hope that we find the student so that we can share the video with her.

It is moments like those that remind me of the human connections that we all yearn for. Despite all of the differences that are between us, we are more alike than we realize.
