Brazil day two...students speak.

Invested the day in Serra Grande with the Pastor, Rosario and his wife Graça. They have pastored the church for 2 years now.  We arrived mid morning and divided into 3 groups for home visits to talk with and pray for the neighbors of the church...then the day got rolling...

Preston:
Although there were many things today that I enjoyed so much like hiking, swimming, and visiting families… I really enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing with the kids at VBS. Bringing all the energy I can to be as vibrant and animated as i can is so fun. Seeing all the kids feed off the energy as I let all embarrassment out and have fun is so enlightening. Although the language barrier is present, we are all praising the same God and having the best time doing it. Looking forward to the next days!!
Stacy:
My favorite part of today was when we were dancing with the kids. I feel like dance is one of the best ways to come together and overcome language barriers. Being able to learn some of the dances they know and share some that we know was an amazing experience and the energy that everyone brought today made it so much fun!
Davina:
My favorite part of today was dancing. Both dancing and performing the portuguese songs with the children. And also dancing with my group members to line dances. I think it was a cool way to share some of our culture with them.
Hannah:
One of my favorite part of the day was hiking to and swimming in the waterfall. The woods were so green and full of life and the water was just the right temperature. It was a great way to hang out and cool off and get refreshed for the rest of the day :)
Elsie:
My favorite part of the day was working with the kids. Getting to connect with the kids despite the language barrier through fac painting was an amazing experience that truly reminded me what this trip is all about.
Well said, Students!
